As mentioned, there is no need for a subscription plan, though there are contract free Ring Protect Plans available, for either $3 or $10 a month, which allow you to store more video using the Ring app, as well as access member benefits and discounts on additional security product purchases. These might be useful if you plan to buy other equipment from Ring, such as its video doorbell, sirens, smoke detectors, cameras, and more. security systems review

I called Comcast, was told a bunch of lies about an alarm not being allowed to ring long enough etc. It must be a central monitoring problem, etc. I was give their monitoring company number, called them and they never received notification of an alarm by the system. Called back to Comcast , was transferred around and hung up on several times before finally getting someone to help with a test. YEP, you guessed it, the junk system NEVER called the monitoring station, no call, nothing. So, for six months I have been paying for a protection service that would NEVER have helped.

Daytime 1080p video from this camera was excellent, but nighttime video was less defined; it was hard to make out people's faces. The camera is weather resistant, but the connection between its cable and power supply is not. We also liked that its app lets you set up custom motion zones. In addition, you get free rolling two day cloud storage, and a 14 day plan that's a very reasonable $40 per year. Read our full Kasa Cam Outdoor review.
